Hand Finishing and Cutting Textured Glass
It isn't required to have a grinder to finish the edges of your glass pieces - a carburundum stone can be used to finish your pieces. As a matter of a fact, small pieces are far easier to clean and finish by hand. You're far less likely to grind away too much material when finishing by hand (well, you can but it takes a lot of work!). A carburundum stone can be obtained at most good tools stores and will literally last you forever. Just be careful where you work since the glass dust that hand-grinding creates needs to be controlled.
Another bit of instruction included in the video is some important tips on cutting textured glass. It's important to imagine, before you cut, how your textured glass piece will appear to the viewer in the final finished piece. It's VERY easy to end up with a reversed piece if you are not careful. Tkae a look and think ahead the next time you are ready to cut an expensive piece of textured glass.
