Archaeologists Date Ancient Stained Glass Found In Ruins

Archaeologists have finally been able to put a date to a piece of stained glass from one of North Yorkshire’s most famous ruins.

Rievaulx Abbey, near Helmsley, has been the site of historical detective work since fragments of its stained-glass windows were recovered from rubble there in the 1920s.

Tiffany treasures coming to Asheville's Biltmore Estate

The Biltmore Estate will brighten up summer with a rare exhibit of 45 Tiffany stained glass lamps. “Tiffany at Biltmore” will be on display July 1-Oct. 23 in the Biltmore Legacy exhibition hall, in the Antler Hill Village visitor area.

The 45 lamps are on loan from the Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass in New York City. The lamps will be shown alongside three stained glass windows that were once installed at the home of New York home of William H. Vanderbilt, father of Biltmore founder George Vanderbilt. The lamps cover a wide variety of styles, colors and sizes
